Virginia Mice Removal Techniques

Your Wildlife Professionals, Inc. provides mice removal and mouse removal from structures in Virginia.

Mice exclusion (Repairs), mice trapping and mice bait placement are key to effective mouse removal.  Knowing their biological habits, performing the necessary repairs, and the use of traps, if necessary, and or rodenticide baits for a minimum of 60 days will solve most mouse problems.  When ideal habitat, water, and food for mice are within your property or structure, monthly or annual baiting services are recommended to prevent and or eliminate new mice from trying to enter your structure.

There are many different ways to get rid of mice, but if you are looking for a professional, permanent solution to your mouse problem, with a written guarantee and warranted for a one year minimum, you have found one of the only companies in Virginia that can provide you with this and back it up.

Your Wildlife Professional will inspect every square foot of the exterior of your home or business looking for current and potential mice entry points. When they find these current and potential entry points they will seal them with 35 – 50 year sealant that is backed with a permanent rodent proof material, install rigid screens, or chimney caps and covers. If you just repair the current entry points without sealing the potential penetration points, the mice will just move to those potential entry points.

Virginia Mice Damage

Your Wildlife Professionals, Inc. offers prevention of rodent damage, mice damage and mouse damage in residential and commercial properties in Virginia.

Mice create more mental damage to people than physical damage to their property.  There are several theories and misconceptions about mice that can really scare people.  We stick to the facts about mice and will educate you to the best of our knowledge to help with that fear of mice. Each mouse that lives in your home or business will expel 50 - 60 droppings a day and urinate everywhere they travel.  Over time the buildup of mouse droppings and urine can create a lot of damage to your home or business.  The combination of mice droppings and urine can create a strong offensive odor and will contaminate your attic and crawlspace insulation.  The longer the mice are in the structure, the more damage their droppings and urine can create.  There are other issues associated with the buildup of mouse droppings in a structure that are discussed in the Mice Health Concerns section.

The only way to determine if you have mouse damage in an attic or your crawlspace is to have your professional mouse removal company perform a mouse damage assessment.  A mouse damage assessment involves inspecting the areas that mice are living in, such as your crawlspace or attic. If the mice have been in the house for a long time and the mice droppings and urine accumulate, then there is a possibility of mice damage.  Mouse damage is usually determined at the time of the initial inspection.  Most of the mice damage we see are the droppings and urine stains that are on or in the insulation in the attic and crawlspace.  At this point a partial clean-out or a full attic restoration will be necessary.

An estimate for the repairs will be provided to you at the time of our initial consultation / inspection of your home or business.

Prior to removing the mice from your home or business, we recommend that all the necessary repairs that will prevent mice from entering your home or business are performed.  All our repairs are warranted for one year.

If Your Wildlife Professionals, Inc. can help prevent mice damage or mouse damage by providing mouse removal or get rid of mice in the counties, cities and towns of Alexandria, Arlington, Bedford, Blacksburg, Bristol, Charlottesville, Covington, Chesapeake, Danville, Fairfax, Fredericksburg, Hampton, Harrisonburg, Lexington, Lynchburg, Loudon, Manassas, Martinsville, Newport News, Norfolk, Richmond, Roanoke, Smith Mountain Lake, Staunton, Virginia Beach, Waynesboro, Williamsburg, Winchester, Wytheville, and Yorktown Virginia.

Where do you relocate the animals?
-    Only squirrels can be relocated in Virginia.

What do you do with the animal after you catch it?
-    Our permit allows us to transport the live mice to another location to be euthanized.

Why can’t you just seal up the hole(s) in the middle of the day when they are out of the house and we are not hearing any noise?
-    Mice are in and out of their nest all day.  You hear more noise in the morning and evening, because they are all in there at once.
-    You are taking a chance on sealing a mouse in the house and it dying in there.
-    Most importantly, once a mice(s) has established a nesting area in your home it will do everything it can to stay.  If the mice(s) are out and we seal up the holes, the mice(s) will only chew another hole somewhere else in the house.
-    The more that you mess with the mice the smarter they get and the harder it is to get rid of them!

How do you all know when to seal up the mouse hole?
-    Once we go a couple of days without catching anything, we will cover the hole with tape or just seal the hole.
-    Generally, once you go through a series of catches and they stop, you have removed the mice that know where that hole is.
-    If we are in doubt, we will contact the customer to see if they are hearing any noise.

There is a mouse trapped in my wall, can you get it out?
-    There is a good chance that the mouse is not trapped in the wall, it is most likely building a nest in that location.
-    Once a mouse gets in a house it can go anywhere.
-    If a mice is actually trapped in the wall void, then we can remove it by cutting a 4 1/2  inch hole in the wall to remove it.
-    Please Contact Us so that we can set up an appointment.

I have a mouse in my fireplace?
-    Not a problem, Contact Us to set up an appointment.
-    We will give you an estimate for a chimney cap(s) when we arrive.

I have a mouse in my house or basement.
-    Not a problem, Contact Us to set up an appointment.
-    Usually we can remove the mice shortly after we arrive.  Trapping is necessary when a lot of obstructions are in the way.
-    We will tell you how the mice got in when we get there.

Can you remove the contaminated insulation from my attic?
-    Yes, we offer insulation cleanout and installation services.

Virginia Mice - Mouse - Rodent Removal

Your Wildlife Professionals, Inc. provide rodent control, mice removal, mice control, and mice pest control in Virginia.

Mice adapt to residential and commercial environments easily and usually by choice.  Mice adapt easily due to the abundance of food and shelter.  People provide food sources such as dumpsters, trash cans, bird feeders, squirrel feeders, and pet food bowls that are replenished regularly.  Residential and commercial landscapes provide attractive natural food sources such as nuts, buds, and fruits from trees that mice will favor.  Once a mouse has found a prevalent food source it will look for a nesting site that is relatively close to that food source.  In most instances, structures around your home or in your home become the nesting site. A mouse will look for an area outside of your home or business that poses the least resistance.  Rotten stumps, debris piles, concrete slabs, driveways, open loading dock doors, open garage doors, and stone walls are a few locations for their outside dens.  Gable vents, attic fans, exhaust vents, foundation vents, or rotten wood behind your gutter or in your soffit are a few locations that they will gain access for a nesting site.  As the mouse population grows so will the damage and potential viruses.  Extensive burrows under concrete slabs, driveways, and stone walls will cause costly repairs due to settling from these structures.  Chewed electrical wires create the risk of fire and odor issues from their droppings and urine can create a biohazard in your attic or crawlspace insulation.  As long as we continue to urbanize, and provide an abundance of food to the mice, they will continue to adapt to human environments and pose a threat to homes, businesses, and human health.
